HBC clinicians all possess the highest level licenses in their fields available in Texas. All are licensed either as clinical social workers or professional counselors, and two have earned doctorate degrees, which enable them to teach their specialties in university graduate programs. Dr. C. Jane Morrison is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She holds a bachelors degree in sociology from The University of Texas at Dallas, a Master of Science in Social Work and a Doctor of Philosophy from The University of Texas at Arlington. Her doctoral research focused on assessment of trauma in childhood sexual abuse victims. She has done extensive work with these patients. Dr. Morrison uses cognitive behavioral techniques to treat children and adolescents as well as adults. She is proficient in individual, marriage and family settings, treating issues such as depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, ADHD, self-esteem, and family and relationship problems. Additionally, Dr. Morrison does post-divorce co-parenting therapy and conducts court ordered social studies. Dr. Morrison is the co-founder of Heritage Center. Dr. Rebecca S. Jones is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She is also licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist. She began her social work studies in Brussels, Belgium and completed her bachelors degree in Psychology at The University of Connecticut. She earned her Master's and Doctoral degrees from The University of Texas at Arlington where she has also been an instructor in graduate studies. Her doctoral dissertation was a national study of professionals who treat child sexual abuse. Dr. Jones works with children, adolescents, and adults. She uses a cognitive-behavioral approach in the treatment of the full spectrum of emotional and psychological problems. Her expertise includes depression, anxiety, and childhood disorders. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, Dr. Jones has significant training and experience in the area of divorce and shared custody issues. She is co-founder of Heritage Center. Miles I. Morrison is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Department of Transportation Substance Abuse Professional. He is a Diplomate of The National Association of Social Workers in clinical social work, and is Board Certified in Professional Counseling by The American Psychotherapy Association. Miles is an appointee of the thirteen-member United Healthcare Quality Index Committee, a national group of mental health professionals who have been brought together to design guidelines to determine the effectiveness of professionals in treatment outcomes. Before joining HBC in 1998, Miles was director of clinical services for Charter Hospital of Plano. His expertise is in working with adolescents and their families, people with substance abuse and alcohol issues, and couples and families with relational difficulties. He is adept in treating those with depression, anxiety, and mood disorders, and with children coping with Asperger Syndrome and obsessive-compulsive disorder. He is a member of The National Association of Social Workers, The American Psychotherapy Association, and The Obsessive Compulsive Foundation. Jean M. Avery is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified
Counselor. She earned her Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Amberton
University and her Master of Science degree in Communications from Syracuse
University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of
Pennsylvania and has specialized studies in conflict resolution and
spirituality. Working with children and adults, Ms. Avery teaches violin,
and is a symphony violinist. She has been an advisor to college students Patricia A. Mayo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She earned her Masters degree in Social Work from The University of Kansas, and completed her graduate internship at The Menninger Clinic in Topeka, Kansas. She also completed a post-graduate two-year marriage and family therapy training program through The Menninger Clinic. Ms. Mayo specializes in issues related to life and family transitions, identity and spirituality, grief and loss, and womens needs. Dianne Pipkin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has all-level teacher certification in Texas. She earned a bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University and a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. Ms. Pipkin has over 20 years clinical experience, specializing in counseling and psychotherapy for children, adolescents and parents and treating a wide range of behavioral, emotional, and psychological problems. She has worked with developmentally delayed children and their families, and with teenagers in residential treatment. She has participated in a research project regarding successful parenting practices. Ms. Pipkin also has experience counseling older adults and victims of trauma and catastrophic injury. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, Academy of Certified Social Workers, and Alpha Delta Mu National Social Work Honor Society. Sandra K. Walton is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Sandra earned her Bachelors degree in Sociology from Bard College and her Masters degree in Social Work from The Rockefeller School of Social Welfare. She has practiced clinical social work since 1989, including both program administration and counseling and psychotherapy with children, adolescents, families and couples. She has presented papers on addiction as a public health concern at The University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, and on managed care from a community health perspective in Kingston, New York. Sandra taught Social Psychology at a community college and has been published by the National Association of Social Workers, New York state chapter. She treats a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns, including depressive and anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, addiction concerns, grief and loss, anger and stress management, relational issues, lesbian and gay issues, and both women's and men's issues. Sandra is fluent in Spanish and is culturally competent in working with clients of Hispanic ancestry. Wayne Crooks is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents and families. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work and his Master of Science in Social Work from The University of Wisconsin. Wayne was the recipient of the Advanced Opportunity Fellowship as a graduate student at Wisconsin. His vast experience as a clinical social worker includes working with incarcerated adult populations, with children in therapeutic foster care and residential treatment, and both outpatient mental health and school based health programs. He also facilitates seminars and workshops on self-esteem, stress management, and anger management. He joined HBC in 2007 and sees clients coping with depression, anxiety and mood disorders. Lisa Ciminelli is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as well as a Licensed Social Work Supervisor. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Education/Speech Language Pathology from the University of North Texas and her Master of Science degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. Lisa's expertise includes work with children, adolescents, couples, and families, with specialties in adolescent and adult drug abuse, gay and lesbian issues, gender identity, chronic mental illness and chronic health issues including HIV/AIDS. Lisa is a member of The National Association of Social Workers. She joined HBC in 2007. Don Witte is a Licensed Professional Counselor. He earned his Master's Degree in Counseling from Texas A&M University in Commerce, and trained for two additional years at Pastoral Counseling and Education Center in Dallas. A native of Dallas, Don gained his experience while practicing at Child and Family Guidance Center and later at Children's Medical Center in Dallas. Before joining HBC in 2007, he started a private practice in Dallas. Don's expertise includes working with individuals, couples and adolescents. He is active in The Dallas Society of Psychoanalytic Social Workers (DSPSW) and The American Association of Counselors.
